As a result of the 1st review meeting, held online on May 7th with the attendance of project partners, project officer and external monitors, it has been proven that the BorderSens consortium is being very successful in project implementation. Even though it faced some COVID-19 related delays, it demonstrated a good and valid plan on how to cope with this situation.
Also, project implementation documents provided for current assessment are well structured and describe actions for further implementation in general very well, and reported progress is in line with the objectives.
Motivation for the project (necessity for faster detection of drugs and related substances at borders) is still valid. No alternative solution to the problem addressed by the project has emerged so that work of BorderSens is still relevant.
In the project officer and external monitors’ words, “the project is excellently managed by the coordinator”, although some recommendations were suggested to improve project implementation.
This encourages us to continue working at the same level in the coming months.
