By involving 10 national forensic institutes, customs and police forces of 7 EU countries as partners, BorderSens ensures that the prototype system to be developed within the project fits the actual needs of end-users. From the beginning of the project, end-users will collaborate to carefully select illicit drugs and precursors that pose real, pertaining challenges to EU border control authorities.
Interactive workshops and demos with end-users and policy makers are planned as well, in order to raise awareness and provide practical experience with novel devices, thus contributing to the take-up of BorderSens technology within police and customs authorities.
